Our Story

We met at the dog park during COVID. I had two corgis (Alta and Kevin) and Taylor had one (Minnie), and the dogs became instant best friends—so we ended up talking all the time while they played. Because the dog park had restrictions, we started doing “dog play dates” instead: hikes, outdoor meals, and hanging at each other’s apartments.

For the first few weeks we were basically always outside and always in masks, so we honestly didn’t even know what each other fully looked like—yet we still got to know each other really well.

Somewhere along the way, we also bonded over exploring new restaurants in LA—finding patios, trying new spots, and turning “where should we eat?” into our favorite ongoing project.

Our first official date was at Bull & Butterfly, a new place that had opened during that brief window before phase two of lockdown—and it happened to be perfectly in between both of our apartments, which felt like a good sign (or at least good logistics). Eventually it became less about the dogs and more about us (but the corgis definitely think they were in charge).
